The Jerome Mystery

(Special to the Herald.)

WEYMOUTH. December 10—The startling news has been received that the so-called “Jerome mystery” of Digby county is about to be solved. A few days ago a letter was received by the gentleman at whose house Jerome is living from a lady in Liverpool, England, who claims she is a sister to the poor unfortunate. The Christian name of the lady is Jerome, and by chance saw the report of the Jerome case in an English paper, copied from the Halifax Herald. The letter, of course, is more of an enquiry and goes into the nationality of the father and mother. The letter was read to Jerome, who did not seem to express any surprise and would not converse or ask any question relating to his family. He thought he remembered his sister.
