Lise Robichaud

Lise A. Robichaud is an Acadian author and folklorist. She holds a B.A. with Honours in French from Acadia University and also studies at Laval University. She has taught English as a Second Language at the Université de Poitiers and Acadia University. Her extensive research on the legendary Acadian sorcerer, Cy à Mateur, was the subject of a book, Le diable et le cordonnier : vie et légende de Cy à Mateur (2001).

With a passion for Acadian heritage, Lise follows in the footsteps of her great-uncle, the late folklorist Père Anselme Chiasson. Based in Wolfville, N.S., she often returns to Baie Ste. Marie where she is actively involved at an organizational level in projects such as the annual storytelling event “Le Festival de la Parole” and community theatre company, “Le Théâtre de laPiquine”. She was also a consultant on a play based on the life of Jerome that was written by best-selling author, Ami McKay, for the Two Planks and a Passion theatre company.
